Extending Your Trip

San Juan is a beautiful place to explore if you want to extend your trip.  The sister hotel to La Finca Victoria is recommended:  La Botánica Hotel.

However, there are many other hotels to stay at!

How to Get There

Air Travel:

- The Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan is the primary gateway to Vieques.

- United and JetBlue offer flights into Vieques, connecting in San Juan.  If you fly another airline into San Juan, you will have to book a connecting flight to Vieques separately on one of these airlines: Cape Air, Seaborne Airlines, or Vieques Airlink.   They have small planes that leave from San Juan several times a day, and tickets range from $60 to $90 per trip. The flight from San Juan to Vieques is about 25 minutes.

Ferry Service:

- Alternatively, you can take a ferry from Fajardo to Vieques. The ferry ride lasts about an hour and a half.   NOTE:  We do NOT recommend taking the Ferry as it will add significantly to your travel time and the ferries are not reliable.

- Ferry schedules can vary, so it's advisable to check the latest information.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is required.  We recommend getting CFAR (cancel for any reason) travel insurance.  Travel insurance can be booked once you put in a deposit or when you pay in full. There are several companies that offer insurance, and other sites that will provide you competing quotes for insurance.

We recommend these plans:

  1. https://www.allianztravelinsurance.com/find-a-plan/onetrip-prime.htm
  2. https://www.insuremytrip.com/travel-insurance-plans-coverages/cancel-for-any-reason/

Of course, it is your choice who to purchase from!  Each provider has different requirements for when travel insurance needs to be purchased relative to payment in full date and travel date.

Transportation on the Island

Airport transfers to and from Vieques airport & La Finca Victoria are included in your retreat package.
